From Germany via Denmark up to the archipelago off Stockholm - a couple sailed north for a summer in an old Elbe H dinghy. Part 1 now available as PDF download

Even with a conventional yacht, a trip from the Flensburg Fjord across the Danish South Sea to the Swedish coast and up to the archipelago labyrinth off Stockholm is a challenging undertaking. With a small, aged wooden dinghy, however, such a journey becomes a great adventure. Birgit Radebold and Torsten Heller have experienced it. Over the course of several weeks, they realised their dream of sailing a dinghy to Scandinavia.

It goes without saying that not everything always goes smoothly during such an ambitious trip. Right from the start, the sailors were told to get water on board! Lots of water. During the voyage, it was the weather in particular that repeatedly challenged, surprised and tested them and their boat. And so Radebold not only describes the - almost expected - beautiful, romantic, fascinating moments of their journey. She also reports openly and honestly about the setbacks, worries and arduous days that are part and parcel of such a voyage.

The first part of the gripping and richly illustrated report can be read in YACHT, issue 7/2022, can be ordered directly here. Or you can download the article via the link below.
