Due to the coronavirus, many sailors completed this year's holiday trip at home. Quite a few of them discovered the fascination and beauty of the German coastal and inland waters for the first time - and were thrilled.
Over the past few months, we have repeatedly described some of these areas in detail and provided many cruising recommendations, navigation tips and suggestions for shore leave. In YACHT, issue 23/2020, we present the Strelasund, the waters between the Barther and Greifswalder Bodden, in detail.
This is a largely unspoilt area, perfect for beginners, but also for experts - it offers perfect protection if there is a storm out on the Baltic Sea. Numerous beautifully situated harbours and anchorages alternate on both sides of the Sundufer. Stralsund and Greifswald also offer many sights, and the coast of Rügen is ideal for exciting excursions.
