The fleet on the Müritz near Klinker Schloss has now been in existence for over 30 years and is known for offering a wide range of small cruisers that are ideally tailored to the area: with shallow draughts, centreboards and mast-laying equipment for almost all yachts. Owner Thomas Philipp has now worked with the Polish Scandinavia shipyard to produce a special draught version of the 27 for the Müritz. Thanks to a short keel combined with a folding rudder, the yachts only have a draught of 60 centimetres and can therefore sail close to the shore and also approach small jetties for mooring. Another new addition to the programme is a larger Scandinavia 30.
Sun Sailing has an interesting selection of yacht types that you are unlikely to find anywhere else on charter. Among the 18 cabin yachts are Delphia 25 and 29, Pegaz 737, but also older, beautifully refitted Friendship 22 and Compac 19 as well as some dinghies. The boats are ideal for couples, young families or smaller crews who are looking for boats that are ideally suited to the Müritz and neighbouring lakes. The small cruisers are also relatively inexpensive to charter, with the smallest small cruisers starting at 700 euros/week in the low season and the Scandinavia 26 at 1,150 euros.
An interesting course for keelboat beginners is offered twice a year. It teaches dinghy sailors how to switch to keel yachts. This includes practising harbour manoeuvres, dealing with the unfamiliar technology and much more. Anyone planning to "step up" to larger ships is therefore in good hands here.
