There's just one more date that Denmark fans should make a note of in their sailing plans: the third stage of the Tour de France ends in Sønderborg on 3 July. The Christian X. Bridge will then be closed to shipping traffic for safety reasons - and the harbour in Sønderborg could be very crowded.
+++Update 12.02.22 14:00: The railway has announced that the welding work on the railway bridge has been successfully completed. The bridge reopens four times a day+++
Meanwhile, boats were standing in front of the closed bridge wing in Lindaunis this morning (12/05/2022). The railway bridge over the Schlei was supposed to reopen four times a day from today. However, the repair work has turned out to be more extensive than expected, reports Deutsche Bahn in its Info portal : "Additional spare parts need to be manufactured. These still have to be welded to the bridge structure and aligned. For this reason, the planned first two folding operations on Thursday, 12 May 2022, at 10.45 a.m. and 11.45 a.m. have to be cancelled." It is still unclear whether the work will be completed by the afternoon.
Parallel to the repairs, the bridge has been maintained with a jack-up platform in recent weeks, which has led to a complete closure to shipping traffic. The closure has been lifted - at least it is possible to pass under the bridge again with the mast down.
