DSBL weekend in Berlin
Once again, the Hamburg clubs were able to showcase themselves brilliantly at the weekend: In the 1st Bundesliga the NRV remains the measure of all things, in the 2nd league the MSC

The Norddeutscher Regatta Verein is on course to win the Bundesliga title for the fourth time after 2013, 2014 and 2017. Once again, the Hamburg team with helmsman Florian Haufe, David and Dorian Heitzig and Miklas Meyer kept the competition at bay at the weekend and won the Berlin league summit for themselves and their club. It was the third of four possible victories this season for the NRV team.

With just 11 points, the Hanseatic team sits at the top of the first division table. Württembergischer Yacht-Club (WYC), who finished fourth on the Wannsee, are already so far behind in second place with 19 points that not only WYC sailor Dennis Mehlig realised: "It's impressive how strong the NRV is and how they are holding on to the top spot without any major peculiarities. Nothing stands in the way of the championship." Once again, NRV club and Bundesliga team manager Klaus Lahme has shown a "golden touch" in the formation of the Bundesliga team. After four long league weekends, the Bavarian Yacht Club (22 points) is in third place in the table, having secured third place on the podium behind the Düsseldorf Yacht Club on the Wannsee.

They are followed in the table by Berliner Yacht Club (24 points), Wassersport-Verein Hemlingen (25 points), Chiemsee Yacht-Club (29 points) and Seglerhaus am Wannsee (35 points). The red lantern at the bottom of the table hangs in the stern of the Lindauer Segler-Club, which with 71 points has little hope of staying in the league before the last two league summits in Kiel (14-16 September) and Hamburg (18-20 October).

Hamburg sailors are also dominating the 2nd Bundesliga: the team from Mühlenberger Segel-Club (MSC) with Magnus Simon, Till Krüger, Max Holthausen and Ole von Studnitz took an impressive lead over Schlei-Segel-Club (16 points) and Seglervereinigung 1903 (18 points) with their second win of the season and a total of just 7 points on their league account, who also took the podium in the capital in reverse order. The MSC happily announced on its Facebook page: "After a great event with 16 thrilling races in more than challenging conditions, we not only won the Berlin event, but also secured our early promotion at the same time. At our fifth and final event in Kiel, we want to celebrate a great end to the season and ideally take the trophy home with us."

Sailing is like a constantly refreshing declaration of love for life."
