The new ones have a different finish and thus offer more stability than the Regatta series they are replacing

Pfeiffer is replacing the Regatta series with the new Easy Click spar fittings. The biggest innovation lies in the manufacturing method: The fittings are forged from aluminium and are therefore significantly more stable than their predecessors made from cast aluminium with similar material thicknesses. The nose on the locking bolt is designed to simplify the clipping in of the sheet, hence the name Easy Click. The line for opening the fitting is also attached to this nose. The larger opening is intended for attaching the capstans for the topsail and downhaul.

The fittings are available in two sizes for spars measuring 40 x 2 and 50 x 2 millimetres. The first number stands for the diameter, the second for the wall thickness of the tube. The fitting is the same and is fitted with an adapter for the larger diameter. Pfeiffer recommends the smaller diameter for spars on boats up to eight metres in length and the larger diameter for boats up to just over nine metres in length.

The Easy-Click-Spibaum fittings are available in silver or black anodised and cost from 96.89 euros (including 16 per cent tax).

Redakteur Test & Technik
