Harken and Robline importer Frisch has put together a package to upgrade the fittings and rigging of the J/70

The set consists of the SnubbAir winch from Harken, which can be fitted in place of the standard winch in just a few minutes thanks to the identical hole pattern. The SnubbAir winch is considerably lighter, has a lower profile height and specially rounded edges, which reduces the risk of injury. Like a ratchet block, the winch offers a higher holding force for the rope and therefore better support when trimming under high loads. With the optionally available adapter, the 1-speed winch can be operated with a winch handle. Price: 269 euros.

Also on offer is the swivelling 40 mm carbo block with Cam-Matic clamp as a deflection for the gennaker halyard. The larger disc should reduce friction and the larger clamp should be easier to release under load and have a higher holding force. Price: 80 euros.

In tough regatta conditions, the ball bearings of the standard top swivel can become a weak point. In strong winds, they can burst, making the furling jib system difficult to operate. With the Harken H207HP high-performance top swivel, this problem should be a thing of the past. The swivel is equipped with an axial needle bearing and is designed to guarantee a smooth-running furling jib even under peak load. The dimensions are identical to the standard top swivel. Price: 359 Euro

There is also an upgrade for the gennaker halyard, mainsheet and furling line. The Dinghy Star rigging from Robline consists of a cover with Dyneema SK78, Technora and XLF components. These components ensure particularly high abrasion resistance and still offer the necessary grip to be able to grip as quickly as possible under high loads. The Dyneema SK78 core in turn promises very low elongation with minimum weight. Dinghy Star is available in blue, yellow, red and neon green with diameters of four to eight millimetres.
