Before the new fouling protection is applied to the hull, a few things need to be clarified
At the end of the season, it's time to get smart, because spring is approaching faster than you think, which means it's time to get the boat ready for sea. Fouling protection plays a central role in this. What systems are available, what needs to be considered when choosing a coating and what is the best way to overhaul it?

Nobody wants a reef on their hull - that much is clear. But what is the best way to avoid fouling without unnecessarily harming the environment? To what extent does the area have an influence on the fouling, and what should be done if the anti-fouling system fails? Hard or self-eroding antifouling? Apply one or two coats? Roll out generously or thinly? With primer or without? Better in autumn or spring? And what about the log transducer, propeller, shaft or saildrive?

YACHT editor and technical expert Hauke Schmidt not only deals professionally with everything you need to know about yachts and boats - as a long-time owner and author of specialised books, he is also very familiar with refit and winter work from his own experience. In the webinar, he clears the fog for you. And explains how to optimally prepare the underwater hull, how to fill small imperfections, how to stabilise old paintwork - and when a complete rebuild is necessary.

The webinar will focus on the following topics:

Basics: How fouling develops and how it can be avoided. Which antifouling systems are available, how they work and for which areas they are suitable. What influence the type of boat has on the choice of antifouling.
Non-toxic alternatives: Which ones are available and what they do.
Annual maintenance: What to do at the end of the season and what to look out for when repainting.
System change: How do you proceed, which systems are compatible?
Reconstruction: When is it necessary, what is the best way to remove the old paint from the hull and what alternatives are there?

NOTE If you are unable to attend the webinar, you can also register as a "absent" participant the recording of the webinar (but limited to four weeks).

We look forward to seeing you!
