The Elide-Fire fire ball is slightly smaller than a bowling ball and weighs 1.5 kilograms. To fight a fire, it is simply thrown into the flames. On contact with fire, the Elide-Fire explodes at a volume of around 120 decibels and disperses the extinguishing powder. The advantage is that no manual triggering is required. The ball can be installed in a special holder in the engine room, for example, where it extinguishes itself in the event of a fire. According to the manufacturer, it is only triggered by flames and not by heat.

The video impressively demonstrates the effect of the fire extinguisher. As soon as the ball comes into contact with the flames, it takes around three seconds for it to explode. According to the manufacturer, however, this should be harmless and not lead to injuries or destruction. The Elide-Fire corresponds to category P1 for pyrotechnics.
