The Easyone is an AIS MOB transmitter, which means that in an emergency, the current position of the device is sent via VHF to all AIS receivers within range. The patented trigger automatically releases a spirally coiled rod antenna in the event of permanent water contact, activates the transmitter and initialises an emergency message. This is picked up by all AIS receivers within a radius of seven to eight nautical miles and displayed on chart plotters, for example.
In addition to the individual device identification, the emergency message also contains the current GPS position as well as the course and speed over ground, making it very easy to track and find people floating in the water. The Easyone also has a bright LED flashing light. The integrated 56-channel GPS receiver guarantees a cold start time of just 35 seconds from activation to the first satellite fix.
The 150 gram Easyone is powered by two lithium cells and is said to transmit for 36 hours. The battery life in idle mode is specified as seven years. Thanks to its small dimensions of 168 x 48 x 27 millimetres, the transmitter can be stowed in any automatic lifejacket. Thanks to its shape and weight distribution, the Easyone floats upright and does not need to be firmly attached to the buoyancy chamber of the waistcoat; it simply needs to be secured to the person with a lanyard. It can also be used as a MOB buoy in combination with a rescue collar or ring. It can also be integrated into all standard life rafts during maintenance.
As the AIS-MOB is registered by the manufacturer, it is independent of the boat's MSSI and does not require registration. The price is 298 euros
