Firefighting: Compact and powerful against fires

The new Jockel F3H 8 System GREEN 2.0 fire extinguisher sets new standards in terms of compactness and performance for firefighting, especially for grease fires. With a weight of just 6.7 kg and a height of 37 cm, it can be easily accommodated even in tight storage spaces. Despite its small size, it offers a considerable extinguishing performance for fire classes A and F, whereby it is particularly effective for grease fires (F). Fire class A is for fires involving solid and ember-forming substances.

Innovative extinguishing agent technology

At the heart of the fire extinguisher is an innovative foam-based extinguishing agent. It combines the advantages of powder and foam extinguishers without their typical disadvantages. It does not use per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). These compounds are only broken down very slowly and are therefore also known as perpetual chemicals. They are suspected of being carcinogenic.

The extinguishing foam effectively smothers flames and cools the source of the fire at the same time. Unlike powder extinguishers, it leaves no fine residue that could damage sensitive on-board electronics. The extinguishing time is around 14 seconds with a throw range of 7 metres. This is sufficient to fight small to medium-sized fires, especially grease fires. As fires in the galley are one of the two most common causes of fire on board, it makes sense to be prepared for them.

Practical handling

The fire extinguisher is operated intuitively using a push button. A safety cotter pin prevents accidental activation. The ergonomically shaped handle provides a secure grip even with wet or oily hands. The compact design makes it easy to manoeuvre in confined spaces such as kitchens or engine rooms.

The manufacturer specifies a service life of 25 years with correct maintenance. The extinguisher can be refilled after use. The corrosion resistance meets high requirements. Nevertheless, regular visual inspection for damage is recommended. The Jockel F3H 8 System GREEN 2.0 fire extinguisher will be available shortly. A price has not yet been set.
