Sails: Between genoa and gennaker
The new Dehler Freeride Code
Dehler and Elvstrøm are launching a new headsail on the market: the so-called Freeride Code is intended to be the all-purpose weapon from upwind to downwind

In co-operation with Elvstrøm, Dehler is offering a new headsail for the area between deep upwind and downwind courses. The so-called Dehler Freeride Code bridges the gap between genoa and gennaker. Five to 20 knots of wind at courses of around 65 to 135 degrees to the true wind are specified as the optimum range of use.

The sail made of CZ laminate with Twaron fibres and Technora X-Ply is attached to the bowsprit and gennaker halyard. It has its own forestay with furling device and can therefore remain furled, for example in the harbour. Alternatively, it can be stored on deck in the stowage bag developed for the sail.

The standard version of the Freeride Code has a surface area of 51.3 square metres, while the so-called Competition version has a full 57.9 square metres. It is sailed using the gennaker sheets, the furling system is integrated. A similar new model is being offered for Hanse yachts under the name Crossover Sail.

The sail including accessories is available for the following Dehler models:

Dehler 34 - 4.700 Euro
Dehler 38 - 5.890 Euro
Dehler 42 - 6.960 Euro
Dehler 46 - 8.270 Euro
