Spinlock is launching a shroud tension measuring device on the market that works completely mechanically. The so-called Rig-Sense is attached to the standing rigging and then displays the tension in kilograms. This means that sailors have their hands free to adjust the rig tensioner. According to the manufacturer, this is made possible by a calibrated leaf spring made of composite material. The Rig-Sense can be used for shrouds and stays made of wire as well as Dyneema with a diameter of 2 to 5 millimetres. This makes it suitable for dinghies and keelboats up to around 30 feet.

The Spinlock app can be used to collect the data and quickly set the correct trim again and again. As the Rig-Sense measures analogue, the values must be entered manually on a smartphone or tablet. The Rig-Sense app is available for iOS and Android.
The measuring device itself is supplied with a case and costs 189 euros.
