The Outpod is designed for sailing boats from seven to nine metres. The system combines 48-volt pod technology with a transom mount so that it can be pulled out of the water. Three power levels from 500 watts to 3 kilowatts are available.

The Outpod is positioned as an intermediate solution between a classic pod drive and an outboard motor. Unlike permanently installed pod drives, which require an opening in the hull, the Outpod is attached to the outside of the stern. This significantly reduces the installation effort and makes the system interesting for retrofitting. For sailing boats up to nine metres, where every centimetre of interior space counts, the Outpod is intended to be a space-saving alternative to an inboard engine.

Height-adjustable and quickly removable

The design of the Outpod is based on a slim shaft that is attached to the mirror via a rail system. According to the manufacturer, the entire drive unit can be removed in one easy step. The shaft is height-adjustable via a buoy so that the motor can be lifted out of the water. The drive can also be rotated by 180 degrees. This makes it easy to manoeuvre with the pod and also allows the motor to be used as a hydrogenerator when sailing.48V system with flexible power supply

Convenient operation, scalable capacity

The Outpod operates at 48 volts and offers the typical comfort functions of a pod drive: remote control, display for control and battery packs with a capacity to suit the environment. The electronics and battery are not located on the motor, but in the boat. This is designed to increase durability and reliability. There are two battery options to choose from: an exchangeable battery with 2.3 kilowatt hours and an Autoconnect system or a permanently installed battery. The pod is designed as a direct drive and has no gearbox.

Temo manufactures all motors in France and offers a three-year warranty after registration. For the sales launch, the manufacturer is offering a 15 per cent discount on complete Outpod systems, including batteries and charger. A system for a Bente 24 with a three-kilowatt motor and 3.4 kilowatt hours of battery capacity therefore costs around 7,050 euros. The offer is valid until 31 December 2025.
