The Suunto Vertical Titanium smartwatch comes with an explicit sailing function and lots of features. However, there are weaknesses in its operation.

Suunto, the Finnish manufacturer known among sailors for its compasses, presents the Vertical Titanium, a water sports-friendly watch with an attractive design and impressive features. It comes with a map display and solar charging function as well as multi-band GNSS and a sailing function. Only the usability was not quite convincing.

Map display only with Fix

Land-based maps can also be downloaded for the Suunto watch and customised as required. Here too, the maps are free of charge. However, the download takes quite a long time and the map display requires a successful position determination

In summary, a solid multisport watch with map display and extensive features, but with weaknesses in usability

  • + Good price-performance ratio
  • + Rich equipment
  • + Offline map display
  • + Solar charging function
  • - Weaknesses in usability

YACHT rating: ***
