The GP-39 has an easy-to-read colour display and is limited to displaying navigation data only
With the GP-39, Furuno is updating its classic built-in GPS. It is one of the few devices without a chart plotter function

The GP-39 GPS receiver is intended to replace the GP-32 model, which can be found on many older yachts and is almost a classic in GPS navigation. The new model is also limited to displaying navigation data such as position, course and speed over ground. It can store 10,000 waypoints and organise them into 100 routes.

Nevertheless, the device offers an easy-to-read colour display and a motorway display as a control aid. Communication with the on-board network takes place via an NMEA-0183 interface, and power consumption is said to be 8.4 watts or less. Routes and waypoints can be imported and exported via USB, and data from old GP-30/35, GP-31/37 and GP-32 devices can be transferred to the GP-39 using a signal converter. The installation dimensions correspond to the predecessor model. Price: 449 euros.
