For the duration of Kieler Woche, the Kiel-based company Wetterwelt is making its Seaman programme available free of charge and without restrictions

The programme offers marine weather forecasts for the North Sea, Baltic Sea and Mediterranean. This includes standards such as wind, swell and weather development in the sea area in question, but also the unique function of route weather according to Wetterwelt.

Seaman runs as a web app on tablets and smartphones. Its full range of functions will be available free of charge for nine days from 22 to 30 June.

The installation is described at Wetterwelt:

Simply go to www.wetterwelt.de/kieler-woche and select the desired forecast region. On first contact, a large amount of data (approx. 2MB) is downloaded to install the application on the smartphone, iPad or other tablet. Once the app is on the mobile device, it only downloads the current data, a small file, the next time it is called up. Seaman can then be used to analyse the expected weather freely and independently of the Internet.
