The GLOMEX Nashira AGC DAB receives DVB-T and DVB-T2 signals on sailing and motor boats. The Italian manufacturer has revamped its best-selling antenna model. Lindemann is now launching the new version in Germany. The antenna measures 370 millimetres in diameter and protrudes 55 millimetres above the mounting surface. Its flat profile is designed to reduce susceptibility to wind.
The distance to transmission masts changes constantly whilst sailing and at anchor. Until now, skippers had to adjust the amplifier manually: turning it up when the signal was weak at sea, and turning it down when the signal was strong in port. The new Nashira AGC handles this task automatically. AGC stands for Automatic Gain Control. The amplifier measures the signal strength and adjusts the gain accordingly. The system operates without any user intervention. As manual operation is no longer necessary, the amplifier can be fitted in concealed locations inside the vessel.
Its distinctive shape is reminiscent of a shark’s fin. This design receives vertically polarised TV signals. The antenna base is reinforced and, according to the manufacturer, is designed to deliver a stable signal even in rough seas. The Nashira series has been on the market for over 30 years. The antenna is now available in white and black. The black version blends in with modern yacht designs.
As well as high-definition digital TV, the aerial also receives DAB radio signals. With an optional 2-way splitter (item number V9147), AM and FM frequencies are also available. The splitter splits the signal between the TV and the radio. A separate radio aerial is then no longer required. This reduces the number of installations on deck.
