With the new communication system "Crew", Sena is expanding its Nautitalk product line. What characterises the new product and sets it apart from others

Sena is a renowned company that specialises in the development and manufacture of communication systems for motorcyclists. Sena also supplies products for the marine sector. They are known for their quality, among other things. Using Bluetooth technology and a mesh connection, Sena's communication systems enable a seamless connection with each other. This means that you can communicate with each other, listen to music or take calls while driving without having to take your hands off the wheel. These functionalities not only contribute to safety, but also offer additional convenience.

Sena products for the marine sector

This is exactly what Sena has had for the marine sector for just over a year now. All marine products are marketed under the name Nautitalk. We have already presented the Nautitalk Bosun in our product category. Shortly afterwards, the hearing protection with speech function called N2R was also released, which is ideal if you are in the engine compartment of larger ships, for example. However, both systems are slightly larger and cover both ears. This changes with the latest introduction, the "Crew".

More about communication on board:

The latest addition to the Sena Nautitalk range is the "Crew" product. This small device is simply clipped onto a cap or hat and is more reminiscent of a lorry driver's headset. However, unlike the previous models, it only covers one ear so that you can continue to interact with the world around you. "Crew" offers a practical solution for various maritime applications. For example, it is perfect for family cruises where crew members want to stay in contact, or for regattas and circumnavigations where clear communication is crucial. But the system could also be very popular for dinghy training and promoting young talent.

The price for the Sena Nautitalk Crew is 239 euros each and the market launch is planned for early 2025. As soon as we have tried out the product, we will of course share our experiences and impressions.

Ole Puls was born in Schleswig in 1999. He quickly swapped the football pitch for the Schlei and grew up sailing a wide variety of dinghies and tall ships. From his grandfather's self-built wooden opti and a Europe to a 49er and an X362 Sport, there was a lot to choose from. After leaving school, Puls decided to train as a boat builder at the high-tech shipyard Knierim Yachtbau in Kiel in 2016. He successfully completed his training in 2020 and stayed at the shipyard as a bachelor. In 2022, he decided not only to build boats, but also to test them. Since then, he has been working for Delius Klasing Verlag in the Test & Technology section of BOOTE magazine. The training he received and the eye for detail and quality of workmanship he acquired help him immensely today. Even though he is a regatta sailor with heart and soul, he feels right at home on motorboats and enjoys separating his professional and private lives and yet combining them. Because we all know one thing: there is simply no better place to be than on the water.
