The OD WS Tech Hooded T-Shirt from Slam
The hooded shirt offers sailors protection from the sun and wind. It is lightweight, stretchy and breathable. The convertible hood allows flexible adjustment to different weather conditions.

The OD WS Tech Hooded Shirt is aimed at active regatta sailors who are looking for a versatile garment for different conditions on the water. It combines protective functions with a high degree of freedom of movement and is intended to be just as suitable for one-design regattas as it is for longer offshore missions.

Material and processing

The shirt is made from a recycled functional fabric with Lycra content. This makes it elasticated and should retain its shape even after frequent use. A DWR impregnation makes it water-repellent. The integrated UV protection with factor 50+ protects the skin from the sun's rays. This means you don't have to reapply sun cream and are still well protected against sunburn.

Micro-holes are incorporated under the armpits and in the mouth area for ventilation. An antibacterial coating is also designed to prevent odours. Flat seams are designed to prevent chafing and pressure points. The weight of the shirt is not specified, but it is described as light.

The convertible hood is the central functional element. It can be worn in three ways: folded down for a discreet look, as a neck roll to protect against the sun and wind and pulled over a cap to protect the entire face from the sun. This means that the shirt can be flexibly adapted to changing weather conditions. According to the manufacturer, breathability is retained despite water and wind repellence.

It is primarily used in one-design regattas and on larger yachts. It should also be suitable for coaches who spend long periods on the water. Use on land or when travelling is also possible.

The OD WS functional hooded T-shirt is priced at 100 euros. It is available for women, men and in children's sizes. Kohlhoff GmbH from Kiel has taken over the representation of the Italian sailing clothing brand Slam in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
