Rudy Project is supporting Japan’s first professional offshore sailing team through a demanding competition cycle. DMG MORI skipper Kojiro Shiraishi and his team will be kitted out with products from the Italian manufacturer during The Ocean Race 2027 and the Vendée Globe 2028. The official christening ceremony for the new IMOCA yacht, DMG MORI Global One The event in Lorient in July marked the start of the partnership. According to the team, they chose Rudy Project because of its lens systems, which are designed to enhance contrast in changing light conditions whilst reducing glare on the water.
Equipment for training and competition
The DMG MORI Sailing Team uses customised glasses during training sessions, transit voyages and offshore races; these are now also available as standard models in shops. Weighing just 29 grams, the Turbolence-The sunglasses feature Multilaser Red lenses, whilst the Lightflow A-Sunglasses fitted with Polar 3FX ML Red lenses. Both models feature an elegant laser engraving of the team name on the lenses.

They feature a rubber nose pad for all-day comfort and adjustable temples for a personalised fit. Available with mirrored and polarised lens options. Mirrored sunglasses with RPoptics lenses for maximum glare reduction and high-contrast vision in bright sunlight.
