If the tiller is too short for you, but an additional tiller boom is too bulky, the fixed and flexible special steering systems from Swedish manufacturer Reecher are a good alternative

The Reecher Flex S is a tiller that makes the use of a conventional tiller arm superfluous. It can be individually adjusted in ten-degree increments up to an angle of 50 degrees to port and starboard. It can also be adjusted horizontally, up to 45 degrees. The Reecher has an overall length of 1.10 metres and a weight of 2.7 kilograms. It is specially designed for boats between seven and a half and eleven metres in length, particularly those with a wide cockpit.

However, if you own a boat with a narrow cockpit, you might be interested in the free or fixed version. It is made from high-quality aluminium and 316L stainless steel, and the flex can also be extended. In addition to the standard version, the manufacturer also offers the tiller with an optional autopilot bracket. The handle of the tiller can also be covered in leather for an additional charge. The price for the Reecher Flex S is 1,303.95 euros, the leather cover costs a further 121.95 euros. The Fixed S and Fixed L versions are available for 674.95 euros and 763.95 euros respectively. The products can be ordered via the Swedish manufacturer's website.
