This prevents the key from sinking and even makes it easier to get it back on board
It doesn't always have to be a new sail, oilskins or an entire yacht. We found three items of equipment at the trade fair that make winter work and everyday life on board easier.

Of course, new yachts are the highlight of the trade fair. But such a large purchase needs to be carefully considered. And for budget reasons, many of the new products on show are just the stuff of daydreams. That's why we took a look at the small, useful aids for water sports enthusiasts and found what we were looking for.

Paint fouling protection, stay clean

The von der Linden company has a whole set of practical aids for painting work, such as coating the underwater hull. The centrepiece of the Easy Roll Set is a paint bucket. It has a practical handle that is held at the bottom and also serves as a safe rest for the paint roller at the top. The inside of the bucket has a flattened side with a special surface structure that is ideal for wiping off the paint roller. This means you have everything in one hand when painting the antifouling and don't trip over the paint tray on the floor.

The Easy Roll set also offers interchangeable inserts for the bucket. The Easy Roll tray insert can be removed and replaced together with dried paint. This keeps the bucket clean and ready for the next painting job. There is also a lid that protects the paint from dust and premature drying out during a break in work.

The Easy Roll Set is also exciting in terms of price, it costs just under 11 euros. It includes the bucket, three inserts and the lid. There is also the Easy Roll pouring aid in sizes S and L. The plastic spout makes it easier to transfer the paint from the can to the bucket.

Locks without damage

Stable and customisable: the fender boardPhoto: FenderbrettStable and customisable: the fender board

The young company Fenderbrett offers this very mooring aid with customisable lettering. The fender boards are made from water-resistant and robust multiplex and come in lengths of 124 and 149 centimetres. There is a hole in each corner as standard for attaching the line. A handle opening can also be milled as an option. The board can also be personalised with the boat's name.

The board is designed to protect the hull from scratches when moored to a sheet piling, for example. The fenders quickly slip into the recess and lose their effect. The fender board helps to bridge the gaps in the wall. Two fender boards can also be useful for longer yachts.

The simplest version with a length of 124 centimetres, without a handle and without lettering costs 99 euros. With customised lettering, the board costs 149 euros. The larger version costs 129 euros without lettering and 179 euros with lettering. Fender boards can also be customised from 249 euros.

How to get the key back on board

Many water sports enthusiasts carry small buoyancy aids on their key rings, just in case. The company Lindemann from Hamburg now has a key ring with an additional detail: a round recess. If the key falls into the water, the weight of the key causes the pendant to stand up and the round recess points upwards so that the boat hook can be used to pick it up. The pendant is 3D-printed and is designed to hold up to 30 grams of keys on the surface of the water. This should save two to three keys from sinking.

Lindemann supplies the specialised trade and does not sell to end customers. The price has not yet been fixed.
