Practical barbecues for on the go
Outdoor food: Juicy steaks, roasted vegetables or a few hearty sausages always go down a treat. Here are the fiery accompaniments for winter storage and shore leave

The evening barbecue on the pushpit is undoubtedly one of the highlights of every cruise. But because this is hardly allowed in German harbours anymore, crews make a pilgrimage ashore every evening during the season and populate the barbecue areas there. A pleasant side effect of an actually unpleasant circumstance: it almost doesn't matter which barbecue model you choose. It just has to be easy to store - and the meat and vegetables should of course taste good too.

Incidentally, this also applies to a quick sausage in between when it takes longer to winterise and the March sun doesn't yet want to warm the boat too much: a small snack by a warm fire is always welcome.

Here are the barbecues for all occasions:

Best Buddies: Fennek 4Fire and Hexagon fire bowl

The German company Fennek has developed the 4Fire mentioned grill and the Hexagon fire bowl an interesting combination on offer. Both are assembled from individual parts and take up very little space when stowed. The fire bowl consists of six side parts plus the base, which holds all the others in position. The grill grate consists of two parts, one with a grid and a plate on which fried eggs or omelettes can also be prepared. Together with two feet, the 4Fire can also be used without a fire bowl; however, this has the advantage that a fire can still be made after grilling. The 4Fire and Hexagon cost 125.60 euros as a set.
