No more food vapours from the pantry

In most cases, the galley is not partitioned off, so odours and greasy fumes drift through the entire ship when cooking. On many yachts, the ventilation options are inadequate, and the problem becomes even greater if hatches and hatches are not to be opened due to the weather.

The Airhood from the manufacturer of the same name is designed to prevent these problems. The portable extractor bonnet is battery-operated and can be placed directly next to the hob or hung up by the handle so that it is seaworthy. A fan draws in the frying vapours and sends them through a two-stage filter: a stainless steel filter that absorbs the greasy components and an activated charcoal filter against odours. The air then exits at the back. The appliance measures 334 x 221 x 140 millimetres, weighs 1.78 kilograms and is charged using a 230-volt power supply unit.

The internal lithium battery has a capacity of 4,400 milliampere hours and is said to ventilate for over 480 minutes in the first stage. In the second stage, it can run for over 240 minutes and in the third and highest setting for over 120 minutes. According to the manufacturer, the charging process takes less than 180 minutes. The stainless steel anti-grease filter can be cleaned in the dishwasher. Airhood costs 170 euros.

It also protects the device from drops. A screen protector against scratches and cracks in the display is also included. The case is made from 50 per cent recycled plastic. Price: 90 euros.

The outer layer is water-repellent, so the jacket can also be worn over it in good weather without getting soaked by a light spray. The insulation is designed to keep you particularly warm, but is also breathable, protects against overheating and dries quickly. PFC-free. Price: 190 euros.
