Electronic navigation: Raymarine lighthouse charts available for the North Sea & Baltic Sea

What was previously available for Denmark, France, Great Britain and Ireland, Italy and the USA including Canada is now also available for the German North Sea and Baltic coasts. The digital nautical charts contain both professional views, as used in commercial shipping, and charts optimised for recreational sailors. In contrast to the simple official standard, these charts display so-called "Points of Interest" (POI), for example, which indicate special places such as fishing spots or useful information such as the locations of petrol stations. What both versions have in common is that they are based on official hydrographic sources.

The choice of different colour schemes also makes it easier to navigate in different lighting conditions. This allows you to set particularly bright colours for sunny days as well as more muted tones for driving at night or at dusk. The premium version adds unlimited map updates, extended visual POI information and detailed satellite images.

The charts can be downloaded via the RayConnect app on Android and Apple mobile devices. This makes it easy to synchronise the content with the Raymarine Axiom with multifunction display (MFD) or the Raymarine Element Sonar/GPS display. The electronic nautical charts are compatible with both devices from version Lighthouse v3.13. The Lighthouse chart suite can be downloaded from the new online store for Raymarine charts via a web browser. The digital signposts are available for purchase in conjunction with the Axiom+MFD or separately at a price of 145 Euro available. This offer does not include an SD card, which you must also have ready. How the installation of the nautical charts on the specially purchased SD card works and which requirements it should fulfil (e.g. at least 16 GB memory) is described in detail in a Step-by-step instructions explained in video format on the Raymarine website. The data stored on an SD card pre-installed version is alternatively available for 172.55 euros. All premium functions are also included for a term of one year. After that, these extras are available for 45 euros per year.
