25 tools on the wrist
The new multitool wristband is always with you: on a dinghy trip, when swimming with a dinghy and even when travelling by plane

The Tread bracelet from Leatherman, the multitool manufacturer, looks like jewellery. Only at second glance does the observer recognise the different tools in each individual link of the bracelet. A total of 25 helpers are constant companions.

The multitool wristband

These include eight different screwdrivers for both slotted and Phillips screws. There are also six Allen keys, five socket spanners and a square spanner for fitting nuts. So far, however, only three of these spanners are suitable for metric screws and nuts. A European version should be available in the first half of 2016. There are also five more specialised tools: a SIM card spike, a glass breaker, a cutting hook, a square socket spanner for oxygen cylinders and, last but not least, a bottle opener that is integrated into the cap. When using the tools, the bracelet serves as an extension and lever. Because there is no blade, it can also be carried on the wrist in an aeroplane, according to the manufacturer.

The bracelet will be available in silver and black from the end of September. The silver version costs 200 euros and the black-coated version 260 euros.

A watch integrated into the wristband will not be available until 2017. Further information and videos can be found here

Redakteur Test & Technik
