When the colourful cloth is up and in place, everything is fine - but getting there can sometimes be a chore: Space wind sails provide a considerable increase in speed and sailing fun, but are prone to errors in operation. The surface area is large and, in contrast to upwind sails, is mostly free-flying. The internet is full of videos of gennakers wrapped around forestays or spreaders, stubborn egg timers or sails set the wrong way round.
Good preparation helps to avoid such mishaps when setting the sails, and packing the large colourful cloth is an essential part of this.
