Plastic yachts are easy to maintain in principle, but the gloss does not last forever without labour. UV radiation damages the gelcoat and roughens the surface. So even new boats need to be protected from harmful environmental influences. We have analysed four new polishing systems with abrasive pastes of different strengths and corresponding sealants.
