A new self-contained product from cleaning expert Kärcher is particularly suitable for use on board

A quick rinse of the anchor, cleaning the on-board wheels after an island tour, removing partial soiling on deck: Kärcher's Mobile Outdoor Cleaner works where there is no water connection. We have tried it out. The lithium-ion battery-powered device combines a water bucket, pump, hose, nozzle and brush.

The pressure corresponds approximately to that of a conventional water supply on the jetty. A nozzle attachment can be used to generate an effective flat jet, which does not replace a steam jet, but enables concentrated cleaning. With the optional suction hose, the water can also be pumped directly from around the boat, which works at typical freeboard heights after around six seconds of suction time.

The device, which measures around 18 x 22 x 22 centimetres (without the dark grey accessory box), weighs around two kilograms. The spiral hose is 2.8 metres long. The rechargeable battery enables a cleaning time of around 15 minutes. The basic price is 160 euros, with suction accessories 180 euros.

Conclusion: If you still have space, you will be delighted with the mobile Kärcher, which is a good alternative to the permanently installed deck washer.
