Propeller antifouling Velox
Effective anti-fouling protection on the propeller is crucial for safety on board. One option is the new Velox from Yachticon

While the hull, rudder and keel can now easily be given a fresh coat of underwater paint, the propeller is still a tricky subject. Sometimes the coating doesn't hold, sometimes it's ineffective - which is why more than a few people just polish the propeller to a high gloss from the outset to prevent it from sticking.

Yachticon advertises its special Velox propeller antifouling as particularly effective. Suitable for shafts and other metal parts in the underwater area, it is said to have outstanding adhesion and effectiveness.
Velox is available in 0.25 and 0.5 litre containers in white, grey and black. Eight to ten square metres of surface can be painted per litre. Before applying to bare metal, Yachticon recommends applying a coat of metal primer.

According to the information provided, two to three subsequent coats of Velox are optimal for the perfect effect; the recoating interval is three hours. The boat can be launched after 16 hours at the earliest, but after six months at the latest.

Prices start at 35 euros for a quarter of a litre of antifouling, with the same amount of primer available for 15 euros.
