It's a small success story: over 2,000 of Tiwal's compact inflatable sailing dinghies have been sold since the market launch of the first model ten years ago. With the launch of the Tiwal 3R racing version, the manufacturer is now targeting advanced sailors who are looking for good sailing performance and a technically sophisticated and compact boat.
The Tiwal 3R now comes as a further development of the Tiwal 3 with a significantly more powerful rig and more sail area. Tiwal offers the unstayed carbon fibre rig in two different sizes with a sail area of 7.2 or 6.2 square metres, depending on the wind conditions and the sailor's body weight. The sails are new from North-Sails and are made from laminated high-tech cloth. The new and stronger rig naturally also required stiffer hull structures and more resilient outriggers. All lines for trimming the sail are now within easy reach of the sailor on both sides of the new boat.
The complete boat, including mast, main boom and sail, can be dismantled into individual parts and packed into two storage bags and fits easily into the boot of any small car and weighs just 55 kilograms. The dinghy with its inflatable hull can be fully assembled and ready to sail in just 25 minutes. The Tiwal 3R is available from 8,800 euros, including VAT. The boat can be easily ordered via the webshop on the Website of Tiwal to obtain.
