The reports of ongoing closures continue. After the Christian X. Bridge could not be opened spontaneously from 25 to 29 April due to urgent repairs, the popular thoroughfare in Sønderborg remains closed - for the time being until 6 May. Further closures are also expected in the following two weeks, which will be announced at short notice on the website of the Danish " Notice to Mariners" be announced.

The more than 90-year-old tied-arch bridge normally opens twice an hour during the day during the season, allowing traffic to pass through the Alssund. For years, however, there have been repeated obstructions to the imposing structure. The road surface currently needs to be renewed.

Regardless of the progress of the construction work, there is another restriction: the third stage of the Tour de France ends in Sønderborg on 3 July. The cycling event will also affect sailors, as the Christian X. Bridge will not be open to shipping on this day for safety reasons. This is according to a report in the newspaper "Der Nordschleswiger". The harbour area will also be closed off from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on 3 July, and docking and casting off will not be possible during this time. Anyone wishing to attend as a spectator by boat must also be prepared for limited berths: A maximum of four boats will be allowed in the parcel, the newspaper reports further.

The third stage of the Tour de France 2022 starts on 1 July in Copenhagen and leads via Roskilde, Nyborg and Vejle to Sønderborg. In addition to Sønderborg, the other harbours could also become crowded during the Tour, for example due to spectators or special security measures.
