The new Swan forms the lower end of the new cruising yacht line. The new design of the Argentinean is also based on the characteristics of current ocean racers. The hull is voluminous and remains very wide aft, there are double rudder blades and the mast is positioned far aft for larger headsails. This means that the gennaker can be set at the end of the fixed bowsprit at the front, a code zero behind it, the jib at the stem and a staysail on deck. The hull is optimised for a maximum heel of 20 degrees.
A dinghy garage is built into the semi-open stern, which is accessed via the stern hatch. Both the garage and the sail load are watertight and sealed off from the rest of the hull. There are three cabins in the interior. The owners have their own bathroom including a separate shower at the front. To starboard aft is the so-called VIP cabin with two large single berths, which can be enlarged to form a huge berth by inserting cushions. There is a conventional guest cabin to port. The Swan 48 is available in three different design styles, and the owner can also choose between keel, rig and bowsprit variants.
