The standard version is the Grand Soleil 48 Performance, a real sports tourer, but also with plenty of potential for the regatta course. Designer Marco Lostuzzi has given the hull deep and slim hull appendages as well as a high and powerful rig. However, the cockpit layout of the performance version is designed more for sporty cruising with a small crew.
The Grand Soleil 48 in the Race version, which was available to the YACHT editorial team for a test, is completely different. In this version, the boat comes with a carbon fibre rig, an almost two-metre-long, permanently attached bowsprit, a T-keel with stainless steel fin and a draught of no less than three metres. Above all, the cockpit layout of the race version is designed exclusively for racing with an experienced crew. The layouts for the interior remain the same for both versions. The only difference is that some of the stowage compartments have been omitted for the race version for weight reasons, and the pantry is also slightly smaller.
Cantiere del Pardo will be showing the Grand Soleil 48 in the standard Performance version as a German premiere at the boot trade fair in Düsseldorf: Hall 16, Stand C 21.
