Traditional does not mean slow or boring; this has been proven not least by the Test of the Puffin 37 in issue 21/2017 shown. The Wanderer 36P also has little to do with the heavy steel ships from which it is derived. Built in polyester partial sandwich and vinyl ester in the outer layers, 3.5 tonnes of lead ballast are necessarily added to the hull. In this way, the Wanderer achieves the stability required for design category A with the central mouldboard. The total weight on the scales is around 10 tonnes. With 77 square metres of upwind sail area with jib and jib, this results in a sail load factor of 4.1 - which is not exactly generous.
In return, the surface can be flexibly adapted. Thanks to the raised wheelhouse, which is also available in two heights, the cockpit offers plenty of protection. The boat is therefore also equipped for more unpleasant weather. It can also be steered from the deckhouse with an autopilot or, for an extra charge, with a second steering position.
Below deck, the shipyard offers a large say in the layout. Galley above or below, inside steering position or second cabin under the deckhouse, then with a smaller wet room - everything is possible. Heating, sprayhood and cake stand can also be realised to make the boat completely "north-fit". Insulation using panels on the inside of the hull is standard.
Thanks to the design, the variable draught (0.75 to 2.20 metres) and the unusual, but thoroughly appealing appearance, the 11.62 metre long and 3.70 metre wide yacht is an asset to the market. Keyword enrichment: the shipyard must be enriched by at least 228,000 euros before the Wanderer 36 P becomes the property of the new owner.
