The yacht builders in the Slovenian hinterland were already thinking out loud about expanding their new premium programme with a larger boat when the smaller sister GT5 was first presented (YACHT 8/2017 test). Now construction number one of the new flagship GT6 is ready and sailing. And how it does: during the exclusive test in Slovenia in only moderate wind conditions, the voluminous tourer shines with very good and agile sailing characteristics. And, thanks to the well thought-out cockpit layout, handling is easy even for a small crew.
The characteristics of the new GT line: modern and voluminous hulls, luxurious interior fittings, sporty basic design, upscale deck equipment - Gran Turismo (GT) in a nutshell. For the visual design of its new 47-footer, the shipyard sought cooperation with the stylists at Studio F. A. Porsche. Their signature is clearly recognisable in various areas on and below deck. The design naturally comes from the Humphreys Yacht Design office in England.
The comprehensive test report will appear in the next issue of YACHT, issue 21/2020. Below and in advance are the photos of the test run in the Bay of Piran as a gallery to click through
