It will be presented as the successor to the tried-and-tested 460 Grand'Large and will be available in three versions, from simple to luxurious to sporty

The Grand'Large suffix to the name of Dufour's cruising range is off the table for now. A lot has changed since the French brand became part of the Fountaine Pajot Group: new management, a new logo, a fresh design for the boats and a lot of work to improve the details. You could see this for yourself at the world premiere of the Dufour 530 at the boot trade fair in Düsseldorf in January, where Dufour presented an incredibly exciting, modern and attractive touring concept with a new look.

And now the line is being extended downwards in the same DNA. The next boat will be the Dufour 470, which will also be presented as a world first at the leading trade fair in Düsseldorf next January. It will replace the Dufour 460 Grand'Large (test YACHT 23/2015) in the programme of the yacht builder in La Rochelle. However, the hull of the new boat is slightly longer than that of its predecessor and therefore also slightly wider. Dufour's in-house designer Umberto Felci has adopted the hull shapes of the larger sister 530, including the comparatively wide stern and the striking recess in the freeboard for the recessed installation of the hull windows.

The Dufour 470 will be available in three versions. The basic Easy version is aimed at owners with little need for sportiness and is therefore also suitable for the charter market. The Ocean version is suitable for more demanding owners. More options are available in this version, for example a large sunbed aft in the cockpit or an additional outdoor grill station. The Performance version is aimed at sailors who want to sail actively and are looking for more sportiness. The boat comes with a higher and more powerful rig, better sails and extensive deck equipment suitable for regattas.

There are also numerous options for fitting out below deck. The following picture gallery shows the possibilities with the corresponding layouts. The base price for the simple standard version ex shipyard is 265,400 euros gross at market launch. The Ocean version with the modified sheet guides will be around 7,000 euros more expensive, without the additional options. For the ship in the Performance version, buyers will have to calculate additional costs of around 61,000 euros.
