The shipyard from Schleswig presents the first plans for a new 43. The buyer decides for himself how the ship will be built and equipped in detail

Shipyard manager Nils Töbke quickly explains Comfortina's custom concept: "We provide the hull and the deck, and the customers decide what they want inside and on top." Everything should be possible, as long as it is feasible. The yacht builders have already demonstrated the recipe for maximum customisation with the flagship Comfortina 46 (test in YACHT 12/2017). Now it's time to implement this in a ship that is around one metre smaller.

With the new Comfortina 46 and Comfortina 43 models, the shipyard wants to add a second and more modern programme to its previous, more series-production-oriented models 35, 39 and 42 and thus develop the brand even more broadly. Accordingly, there is also a clear visual differentiation. The designs are the work of Dieter Blank in Tarp. He has given the new boats a progressive and contemporary look without losing sight of Confortina's typical recognisable features. The yachts of the younger generation can also be easily identified by their strikingly elegant lines and slender shapes.

Future owners are free to choose not only the layout on deck, but also the type, design and size of the rig. Those who wish can also have a self-tacking jib or a fixed bowsprit for gennakers and code zero fitted. Buyers also have to decide whether they want the boat with a fixed keel or an electro-hydraulically retractable lifting keel. One or two rudder blades are also possible.

The interior is based on a basic layout with three double cabins and two toilet rooms. Additional functional areas can also be added in some cases, such as a separate shower compartment for the owner's wet room in the forward cabin. Customers can choose from a wide range of options when it comes to the visual design and choice of finishing materials (wood, fabrics, surfaces).

Like its bigger sister Comfortina 46, the new Comfortina 43 is also being built at Algro Yachting in Gdansk. The first ship is scheduled for completion in spring 2020. Shipyard manager Niels Töbke is not yet able to give a price estimate, as the custom project is not yet concrete enough.
