When buying a sailing yacht, customising the boat of your dreams is a complex task for future yacht owners. In order to realise one's own ideas, it is necessary to select numerous layout variants, different materials and colours and, of course, options for the equipment. To make this exciting process easier for yacht buyers, Hanseyachts has now developed a new 3D configurator. The exciting online tool will initially be available for the latest model in the range, the Hanse 460.
The yacht builders in Greifswald want to use this to further advance digitalisation in the area of sales and marketing. Hanseyachts already offers potential customers a wide range of product descriptions, videos with technical details, product comparisons and test results. With the new 3D configurator, interested parties can now also click through all possible options and, above all, see the result on the screen. What's more, the virtually customised boat can be rotated three-dimensionally in all directions and the view can be zoomed in and out as required, down to the smallest detail. This applies to both the exterior appearance and the interior design.
Award-winning configurator
The innovative configurator from Hanseyachts has already won coveted prizes. The German Digital Industry Association (BVDW) has honoured this web-based application with bronze in the "Website - User Experience/Usability" category of the German Digital Awards. The clear and intuitive operating concept and the innovative features of the configurator were praised in particular. At the German Stevie Awards, the application also won gold twice in the categories "Best Website - Automotive and Means of Transport" and "Best Web Software - Programming/Design".
With the new 460, Hanseyachts not only completed the change of construction partners (now Berret-Racoupeau) last year, but also laid the foundation for a complete programme overhaul. The attractive and very versatile ship was awarded the title of European Yacht of the Year 2022 in the cruising yacht category in January.
