Brighter, friendlier, more inviting. Above all, the interior of the 46 is given a comprehensive makeover
Dehler is giving its flagship an extensive update with many modifications, especially below deck. The premiere is already this year in September

SQ stands for Speed & Quality, i.e. improved sailing characteristics, modern design and superior workmanship. The most striking new feature on deck is the option of a tarp bracket above the cockpit. It provides a solid base for attaching a large and stable sprayhood and also removes the mainsheet guide from the cockpit, which is trimmed via the traveller in front of the two steering columns as standard.

Another new feature is the permanently attached bowsprit with integrated anchor bracket. The trunk serves as a forward attachment point for a gennaker or a rollable code zero. And; Dehler now also offers a stay jib for heavy weather as an option for the 46. Buyers also have the opportunity to gradually increase the performance potential of the large Dehler with additional extras. For example, with a deeper T-shaped performance keel, a higher carbon fibre rig or upgrades to the sail wardrobe. Otherwise, both the deck layout and the sail plan of the new 46 SQ remain largely unchanged compared to the previous model. The genoa with 105 per cent overlap is still standard. A self-tacking jib is also not provided as an option.

With the facelift of the 46, Dehler has done a lot of work and modernisation, especially below deck. The windows in the hull have been significantly enlarged for more natural light and better views. In addition, Dehler is now fitting out the boat with light-coloured wood and more white surfaces as standard. Of course, there is a wide range of alternative colours and materials. In addition, many of the built-in components have been remodelled and the upholstery adapted. Compared to the previous model, the interior is designed to feel much wider and more open and to reflect a more Mediterranean living ambience.

The general layout below deck has remained unchanged, with two cabins aft, the owner's cabin forward and two very spacious heads compartments. However, the alternatives to the standard layout are limited. Variations are possible in the aft cabins, where one or two separate single berths can be installed instead of a double berth. As a special feature in the saloon, the two-seater sofa on the port side can be electrically moved up to the large saloon table on request - a smart and innovative solution.

The first 46 SQ vessel is now under construction and is scheduled for completion in late summer. The plan is to present the new model as a world premiere at the Yachting Festival in Cannes in September. Dehler has also already announced a price: the new SQ version of the 46 will cost 458,300 euros, including 19 per cent VAT and including the sails. However, the update is also accompanied by a not insignificant price increase. The previous Dehler 46 model was last offered for 391,400 euros gross, which is almost 70,000 euros less. Dehler justifies the additional price with the current problems within the supply chain, among other things.

Elegant appearance. The windows in the fuselage are larger, but slightly narrower in the superstructure
