New top performer from Croatia. The view shows the More 50 in the sporty Performance Sailing version
The yacht builders at More Yachts in Croatia are now working on a new 50-footer. The design plans for this come from the Cossutti Yacht Design studio

The new More 50 is configured as a fast cruiser as standard, with a more cruising-orientated and single-handed cockpit layout. The boat is offered under the Easy Sailing designation. The sheets, halyards and all outhauls are led below deck directly in front of the steering columns. For the version as a sporty regatta boat (Performance Sailing version), the halyards and trim lines are operated at the front on the companionway and the sheets for the genoa and mainsail (German Cupper System) are each operated via two large winches on the coaming.

The high aluminium mast with two spreaders is held in position by Dyform shrouds and is positioned relatively far aft. A self-tacking jib of a reasonable size is therefore a sensible alternative to an overlapping genoa for touring sailing. The hull and deck of the More 50 are built using the vacuum infusion method. In addition, the hull is reinforced with a solid stainless steel frame. It is designed to absorb the forces from the rig, shrouds and keel and ensure better load distribution. The bowsprit is firmly laminated and around one metre long. Either a gennaker or a code zero can be used on it.

Behind the large bathing hatch at the stern, the aft peak offers enough space to store a 2.70 metre long inflatable dinghy crossways. The shipyard has built the single rudder relatively far under the boat for this purpose. There is additional storage space on deck in two large lockers in the cockpit and in the sail locker in the foredeck.

The customer has a wide range of layout options to choose from. The standard ex-shipyard version is with three cabins and two toilet rooms. As an alternative for charter operations, More Yachts divides the very spacious forward cabin into two smaller cabins. As a further variation, the galley can be built into the side of the saloon. In this case, a third heads compartment is possible. The layout options can be seen in the following picture gallery.

The first price announcement is 529,550 euros including 19 per cent VAT. As is generally the case with performance cruisers, the sails are not yet included in this price.

In the standard Easy Sailing version, all halyards, outhauls and sheets are led back to the helm stations. The cockpit coaming is high and provides good protection
