The stars of the world's largest water sports trade fair are the new products. Once again, special attention is being paid to the segment below twelve metres in length

The industry giant Beneteau sent out a big surprise package shortly before the trade fair. The French company has apparently quietly developed and built a new 30-foot tourer for the popular entry-level class. The newOceanis 30.1 will be on show as a world premiere at boot in Düsseldorf.

The newBente 39 (test in YACHT 25-26/2018). The new flagship from Viko Yachts will be presented as a world premiere in Poland. TheViko S 35will be presented at the trade fair with a truly competitive price of less than 50,000 euros net.

Beneteau Oceanis 30.1: Exciting world premiere with a surprise effect. Beneteau's new entry-level boat is highly versatile with many variants and options. Inside with two double cabins and a separate wet room. Hall 16 - Stand B42

Elan E4. The yacht builders in Slovenia gave their E line a comprehensive update with many changes and innovations in 2018. The E4 will be on show as a novelty at the trade fair in Düsseldorf. Hall 16 - Stand D41

Michael Good is test editor at YACHT and is primarily responsible for new boats, their presentation and the production of test reports. Michael Good lives and works in Switzerland on the shores of Lake Constance. He has been sailing since childhood and, in addition to his professional activities, has also been an active regatta sailor for many years, currently mainly in the Finn Dinghy and Melges 24 classes. He is also co-owner of a 45 National Cruiser built in 1917.
