The launch of the new gulet
In the second part, Bobby Schenk reports on the construction and use of the gulet that Jörg Diesch had built in Turkey to realise his long-distance cruising dreams

Jörg Diesch reports on the Bobby Schenk website:

The launching process in Bozburun is a little different to ours. The 70-tonne ship is pulled over greased wooden beams on a sledge across the road. We were just able to call a stop before the ship slid into the water so that Angela could throw her champagne against the bow and wish the ship a hand's breadth of water under its keel and, most importantly for her, ask Rasmus (the god of the wind) to use the wind sparingly. A sheep is slaughtered here in Bozburun, even against our will, to ensure safe navigation. The meat is then served at the feast for all helpers and friends under the now free roof.
