Dehler brings new old 38
The oldest ship in the current fleet is undergoing a relaunch, which is essentially of an optical nature and is now called the Dehler 38 SQ

The name stands for Speed and Quality, an addition that the shipyard already used in earlier times when it still existed independently in Sauerland. Most of the modifications are aimed at a brighter interior: larger hull windows for more light below deck and a more modern look, lighter-coloured surfaces in the interior, one more window in the superstructure, plus a larger sofa on the port side on request, but then the navigation table is omitted.

A fixed GRP bowsprit and a lighter stern platform with an improved swim ladder are the most obvious exterior changes. The boat is still available in the so-called Competition version, which offers five square metres more. A carbon rig is possible. The Competition main is now designed as a fathead, in which case the rig is driven with split aft stays. The sails now come from Quantum. The fathead is also available as an option for the normal rig.

In 2012, the Dehler 38 was the first model since the shipyard was taken over by Hanseyachts AG. The boat won the coveted title of European Yacht of the Year and subsequently various other awards; it is one of the best-selling performance cruisers of recent years. The Dehler 38 SQ starts at a base price of 191,471 euros (including 19 per cent VAT), making it just under 6000 euros more expensive than the previous model.
