There are only ferries here, but hardly any pleasure craft: the Peljesac peninsula is an insider tip
A very special cruise tip off the main charter routes at the start of the Mediterranean season. The trip report is now available as a PDF download

Croatia is the favourite sailing area for German skippers in the Mediterranean. In a current update from the Adriatic harbours, proven area experts explain what has changed there for the new season. They also describe an unusual cruise that should be of particular interest to those who prefer to avoid the hustle and bustle.

We are talking about the Peljesac peninsula between Ploce on the Dalmatian mainland and the island of Korcula. Hardly any sailors get lost there because it is far off the main routes. A detour from Split to Dubrovnik, for example, would mean a diversion of around 70 nautical miles. And the arm of the sea that leads there leads to a dead end. That's why few people get lost in this area.

At the same time - or precisely because of this - it certainly has its advantages. The unspoilt, on the one hand, but also a coastline with enchanting bays and pretty villages and towns. The distances are also pleasantly short.

You can read about what exactly awaits the sailors there in YACHT 9/2020. The magazine is available in the DK shop or you can download the trip report directly via the link below.
