The annual fees for permanent residents with larger yachts will be significantly cheaper in some cases, but owners of smaller vessels will have to pay extra

In the summer, the Croatian authorities held talks with marina operators and the nautical industry about a correction to the drastically increased licence fees in 2018. This was intended to counter the discontent of many owners and the industry in general, as it was feared that boat owners would migrate to Italy or other areas. Some harbour operators had observed exactly that. Apparently, a number of boat owners had crossed the line with the last increase.

The news about the corrected tariffs now comes from a ACI customer information highlight. From 2019, the prices for yachts listed in the table on the left will apply. They will be higher for owners of smaller boats of five to nine metres, but the annual fees for larger yachts in particular will be significantly cheaper in some cases. No further explanation was given as to why, of all things, smaller boats will have to pay more.
