Regatta events
- Rhine WeekThe 100th edition of the longest river regatta in Europe, which will run from Porz to Arnhem from 2-6 June 2022. www.rheinwoche.org

- Hanse Sail RostockThe largest traditional sailing meeting in the world, with a shark cutter regatta and many ships to watch, but also to sail on 11-14 August. www.Hansesail.com
- Maritime Days BremerhavenThe next "Sail" will not take place until 2025, but until then there will be a small edition of the harbour festival every year - with around 300,000 visitors 17-21 August. www.bremerhaven.de
- Hamburg harbour birthday The last time the major event in the Hanseatic city fell victim to the pandemic, it has now been moved from May to late summer 16-18 September. www.Hamburg.de
Exhibitions
- Circumnavigation of the world by Ferdinand Magellan The exhibition "Global 500 - from sailing around the world to the perception of the global" in Merano pays tribute to the first circumnavigation of the globe with maps, travel reports and an art installation by sculptor Lois Fasching until 5 June. www.schlosstirol.it
- 400 years of Vegesack harbourThe oldest man-made harbour in Germany was built in Bremen-Vegesack in 1622. Today it is a museum harbour. The exhibition tells its eventful history, and from 13 to 15 May there will also be a weekend-long birthday party until 28 August. www.museum-schloss-schoenebeck.de
- Navigation for the little onesThe special exhibition "From here to there" at the Bremen State Museum of Art and Cultural History explains to children aged eight and over how navigation at sea works Until 25 September. www.focke-museum.de

- The island youth in North Frisia For two winters, photographer Andreas Jorns accompanied young people on the island of Föhr in their free time, including during New Year's sailing.
