Catamaran or monohull yacht for a long voyage?
Now on Bobby Schenk's homepage: Answers to one of the key questions regarding a circumnavigation: Which ship is best suited?

Bobby Schenk, Germany's best-known blue water sailor, answered the question clearly for himself in the end. His first "Thalassas" were all monohull yachts, but his last boat was a Privilège catamaran.

At his latest and irrevocably last blue water seminar, which took place during the Interboot in Friedrichshafen in front of a full hall as always, Schenk once again dealt with the topic of the ideal cruising yacht. Instead of discussing the advantages and disadvantages of each type of boat himself, he left this part to two equally experienced speakers: Kerstin Pieper and Hans Schubert.

The two of them sailed around the world on their Belize 43 "Cinderella", a Fountaine Pajot cat, on the barefoot route from 2003 to 2007. Since then, they have been working as consultants for people interested in catamarans. You can now find the essence of their presentation at the blue water seminar on Bobby Schenk's homepage. It covers the areas of safety, sailing characteristics and costs.
