As the number of infections in Schleswig-Holstein is decreasing, relaxations are to come into force from 17 May - including in the catering and tourism sectors. Sailors in the federal state could also benefit from this. Accommodation providers will be allowed to reopen to vaccinated, tested and recovered people from this date.
According to the State Chancellery, the main regulations from the current tourism model regions are to be transferred to the entire federal state. Tourism has recently been permitted again on the Schlei, in Eckernförde and in North Friesland, among others, subject to certain conditions. A transfer of the rules applicable there would mean that sailors would have to present a rapid antigen test or PCR test on arrival, which is no older than 48 hours and must be repeated after 72 hours. They would also have to agree to contact tracing, for example via the Luca app.
Minister President Daniel Günther justifies the planned step with the experience gained from the projects already underway. However, if the seven-day incidence exceeds 100, the emergency brake would be applied.
The website of the Schleswig-Holstein state government states the planned changes to Section 17 (Accommodation):
All accommodation offers can be opened with recurring test obligations for staff and guests. The experience gained from the pilot projects will be transferred to the whole country. Communal showers, e.g. on campsites, are opened subject to hygiene requirements, saunas, whirlpools etc. are not.
The following harbours on the Schlei have already opened under certain conditions as part of the model region:
